Last Saturday, 24th October 2009, my family and I went to see movie called "Papadom" by Afdlin Sahuki.
It is a funny comedy about a single father and his daughter, and every man's fear when their little princess grows up and wants to be a woman! Saadom who is a successful Nasi Kandar businessman in Pulau Pinang. His wife's last wish before passing away is for him to take good care of their daughter Mia. From a busy businessman who is so infatuated with his Nasi Kandar business, Saadom changes into a dependable father who is very much focused on his daughter's life. As Mia grows up and she gets a bit annoyed with her father's endless care. A huge dilemma arises as Mia is all grown up and ready for University life. Saadom then panics as he has no idea how to fulfill his late wife's wishes while she's away. PAPADOM hauled 5 awards at the recent Malaysian Film Festival including Best Film and Best Original Story is slated to release in cinemas on Oct 8.
This is my second visit to the cinema. It was my daughter and her cousin who recommended me to watch this movie. Well, to be frank! It's worth it. It's a marvellous movie. I would like to recommend this movie to those who really loves their kids and thinks that he is the only one who cares for thier kids. I memang jarang tengok cerita Melayu... tapi this movie is difference.
Afdlin Shauki... Well done! Buat banyak-banyak lagi movie macam ni. You dah 1 Malaysia.

They are many ways of strengthening the family ties. Some people watch movies just like what I did few weeks ago. Some play card, golfing, swimming or horse riding. But this week I enjoyed something that I really missed after I left country and working abroad; eating with the family.
I was so surprised of my 'adik' coming back for weekend. He is very active occupying his time like what he did for the past four years doing charity work. This week and the week after, he is going to sit for his mid-final paper. Thanks Allah, he came back. So we went to Johnnys (yang athir nagging days after days to go): outlet for steamboat. Just to share something; all of us ordered our meals except for mama. She always reserved her order. She promised not to take anything especially at night. So we ate our meals.
As usual within the eating session we entertained ourselves with no music, no performance but with little fight or argument or 'gaduh' dengan anak-anak. The most interesting part; while were busy arguing with each other... our food bit by bit absorbed by someone... who else the one who did not order anything.
So the moral of the story; do not argue while having 'rezeki' or else your food will be eaten by someone else.

I have to cancel every other assignments or obligation just to attend a wedding of my wife's aunty. I have to go... in fact a must as I have missed the two weddings earlier. This time, I have to be there. If not; I still have one more wedding of my aunty's daughter which I don't know when. Actually earlier on I have committed myself with the PPD Kinta Utara to conduct a training for their staff. Since I missed the first two weddings; I have to withdrawled myself from conducting the course BUT to attend the wedding.
We were supposed to go on Friday but we have to stop dreaming as school's life (teacher) now not like in the earlier time. Now we have LADAP... in house itu... in house ini... tapi tak boleh cakap banyak. Why???.. You have to answer the question yourself lah. Simple question ... SIAPA MINTA KERJA? Adakah KEMENTERIAN MERAYU YOU BEKERJA DENGAN DIA!!! So jangan CAKAP BANYAK.
Ok. So we started from Ipoh early morning just to make sure we do not miss anything and then the other reason is that my in laws will be following me. They are the VIPs'. Well we reached KL very early in my 1996 Honda Oddysey. It is very reliable, comfortable and macam-macam _ble car.
My in laws insisted to fetch my third child in UIA Foundation Center as he has not attended the Malaysian wedding feast for quite sometimes. He finished his MUET test at 12.40 pm. So at 1 pm we departed for Saujana Putra (my sister in law 's house) as the house can cater my in laws (bilik bawah tak payah naik tangga).Well you know at their age; climbing up stairs is tiring. REMEMBER kita pun akan tua satu hari nanti; jadi berlapang-lapang lah for them.
We reached her house at 1.40 pm. After performing prayers and refreshing ourselves we got ready to go. As usual, yang paling excited to go are ladies. Samalah semua... my wife , my mother in laws, my in laws and my daughter in their new dress respectively. My wife has not been to any her relatives' functions for nearly five years. He followed me abroad. She bought a new dress for this occasion. While waiting for me to get ready, she prepared everything. She really couldn't wait. She opened the car and packed to move. In fact she placed the car's key on the dash board so that everyone could see it.
Here come the BEST part accidentally, someone closed the car's door. Then you know what happened !!! Padan muka I, the car was locked automatically and the key was inside the car.My beloved wife dream comes true ... EVERYONE could see the key. We tried to open the door but failed. So we have to call the lock smith to open the door to get back the key. Seconds after minutes and Minutes after hours .. we failed again. Only after 2 hours (almost 4.30 pm) the guy managed to open the door. But what to do, the wedding was over. So we find other alternatives makan lah apa yang ada.
BUT after frustrated of not going... I smiled to myself it is not my 'REZEKI' from beginning. So always remember we can have a SUPER plan . It is up to ALLAH up there to decide. I owe an apology to everyone ; my wife, daughter, in laws, sons as I got angry with them just because I lambat 'beristiqamah'.

Today alhamdulillah, we finally could find time to jog. I really missed jogging with my family as I did 6 or 7 years ago; where I have a lot of time on my own and my family. I did go for jogging when I was in Cairo but I did not enjoy it. Well maybe the weather overthere or the traffic overthere ; very congested.
As for our country, we have a lot of places to jog. Almost every residency area comes with jogging area. Thanks for the good thought. At least today I managed to walk for nearly half an hour with my wife.
Something that I don't understand here is the cleanlines of the area. I still could see our "intelligent friends" (that's what they think of) taking their dogs to the jogging park. I don't mind, if they take them as their company as we know Malaysia nowadays is not a safe place anymore. What I don't understand is that why they take their dogs and treat the park as the toilet of their dogs. Please the authority people look at this , don't just wear the uniform and take the salary. Monitor this please. Some area we have the expensive sign board written on it "NO DOGS ALLOWED".
In addition to that; why our "intelligent friends" like to dirty the public places. I think they are brought like that. Well any how I am very sure this is another kind of activities that you can do with your family... not only strenghtening family's ties but keep you fit not fat. INSYAALLAH

Sekali lagi cuti sekolah bermula. Musim kenduri kahwin pun bermula. Inilah masanya kita berkumpul sanak saudara. Kesempatan begini perlu kita ambil untuk saling kenal mengenali antara satu sama lain.
